How to Make Tandoori Fish Tikka In A Pan

Winters call for some hearty indulgence, and what can be better than enjoying a delicious, spicy, smoky Fish Tikka made in a pan? If you too are a fan of spicy tikkas then follow us through some simple steps below and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g boneless fish fillets
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup thick yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri mirch
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp ghee/oil/butter
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves.

Method Tandoori Fish Tikka Recipe Step-by-Step

STEP 1

Wash and clean the fish filets, and drain the excess water. Then now, marinate with a dash of 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, salt, pepper, turmeric, and lemon juice. Keep aside.

STEP 2

In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, vegetable oil, and remaining spices and whisk well.

STEP 3

Add in fresh coriander leaves and marinated fish, coat the mixture well, and marinate for 2 hours for better absorption of the flavors.

STEP 4

Meanwhile, take a non-stick pan and add 2 tbsp butter/oil and now place the fish pieces, do not add the marinade. Cook the fish over medium heat by flipping the sides. Allow it to cook nicely on both sides till the fish turns nicely brown and charred.

STEP 5

Now, add in the marinade, and cook the fish in the marinade till the masala nicely covers the fish pieces. Once done make space in the center of the pan add a bowl with two pieces of hot coal and pour 1 tbsp butter.

STEP 7

Cover the lid for that tandoori effect and let it stay for 10 mins, take it out and serve with dip or chutney and enjoy!
