Texas Turtle Burger
The Texas Turtle Burger is a deliciously indulgent dish that combines juicy beef patties, melted cheese, crispy bacon, and savory mushrooms, all sandwiched between two grilled portobello mushroom caps. Here’s a recipe to make your own:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large portobello mushroom caps
- 4 slices of bacon
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, BBQ sauce
Instructions:
Prepare the Portobello Mushrooms:
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Clean the portobello mushroom caps and remove the stems.
- Brush both sides of the mushroom caps with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Grill the mushroom caps for about 4-5 minutes on each side until tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Bacon:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Set aside.
