Tom Kha Kai Soup Recipe



  • Chicken breast 1 cut into thin julienne(barik)
  • Salt ½ tsp + ½ tsp
  • White pepper ½ tsp + ½ tsp
  • Mushrooms 4 sliced
  • Green chilies small ones 4 cut in halves
  • Ginger sliced 1 tbsp
  • Thick coconut milk 1 cup
  • Coriander(dhnia) leaves 2 tbsp
  • Flour 2 tbsp
  • Stock(yakhni) 4 cups
  • Crushed red pepper ½ tsp
  • Chili oil 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice ¼ cup
  • Fish sauce 2 tbsp


Marinate chicken strips with salt and white pepper ½ tsp each, boil stock(stock), add in the marinated chicken with dissolved flour paste, mushrooms, green chilies, ginger slice, coconut milk, crushed red pepper, remaining salt and white pepper, lemon juice, chili oil, and fish sauce, cook till thick serve hot with coriander leaves(hra dhnia).
