Fish Biryani Recipe



  • Rice (boiled) ½ kg
  • Surmai fish ½ kg
  • Potatoes ½ kg
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Red chili powder 3 tsp
  • Turmeric(hldi) powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander(dhnia) powder 2 tsp
  • Star anise(badiyan k phool) 1 tbsp
  • Nutmeg, mace(jaifel) 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic(adrk,lehson) 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander(dhnia) ½ bunch
  • Mint(podina) leaves ½ bunch
  • Green chilies 6
  • Lemon slices 4
  • Onion s 300 gm
  • Tomatoes 300 gm
  • Biryani essence few drops
  • Yellow color as required
  • Oil ½ cup

Marinate the fish with 1 tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp ginger garlic. Then heat oil and fry the marinated fish. Remove and set aside. Now in that oil fry the onions. Then add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, tomatoes, ginger-garlic, salt, nutmeg mace, star anise, and potatoes. Cover and cook until the potatoes get tender. Now add fresh coriander, mint leaves, green chilies, yogurt, and yellow color. Mix well. Then add rice and layer it well. Now place fried fish and add biryani essence and lemon slices. Cover and cook well. Lastly, dish out and serve hot.
