The best things to do in Chicago this weekend
Art on the Mart
Art on theMart’s holiday program includes pieces by Chicago youth, stills from the Joffrey Ballet’s staging of The Nutcracker, and an AI-generated display by Ouchhh Studios, all projected on a 25-story-tall video installation on the side of the Merchandise Mart. Before seeing visuals from The Nutcracker put to Tchaikovsky’s famed soundtrack and the Harmonic AI animations, inspired by some of Chicago’s top jazz musicians, take in a series of mosaics produced by youngsters in Chicago’s After School Matters.
Art on theMART’s array of 34 digital projectors displays the 30-minute program at 7:30 and 8 pm every evening. The show is best viewed from the section of the Chicago Riverwalk between Wells Street and Franklin Street.
