Chanay ki Daal Lauki Recipe



  • Boiled split Bengal gram(chna dal) 2 cups
  • Bottle gourd(loki or kdu) 2 cups
  • Onion 1
  • Tomatoes 2-3
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric (hldi)¼ tsp
  • Whole all spice as required
  • Oil ¾ cup
  • Mint leaves(pod ina) 2 tbsp

  • Green chili 2-3

Heat oil and fry onion in it. Then add whole allspice, tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, and turmeric (hldi)and saute well. Now add bottle gourd pieces and saute. Then add boiled split Bengal gram and leave it on dum. When bottle gourd gets tender to add mint leaves(podina) and green chilies, mix well and serve.
