Mirchon Ka Salan Recipe



  • Green Chilies (large) 375 gm
  • Tomatoes 1/2 kg
  • Nigella Seeds(kalwanji) 1/2tsp
  • Salt 1/2tsp
  • Tamarind Pulp(imli paste) 1/2cup
  • Onions 2
  • Cumin Seeds(zeera) 1 tsp
  • Red Chilies (crushed) 1 tsp
  • Coriander(dhania) Powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric(haldi) Powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander(dhnia) Leaves 1/2bunch
  • Curry Leaves 6
  • Oil 1/2cup

Wash, wipe(saff krna) and slit(Chak kerna) green chilies lengthwise and fry in heat oil, take it out.
In the remaining oil, add onions until brown, tomatoes paste.
Add nigella(kalwanji) seeds, salt, cumin (zeera)seeds, crushed red chilies, turmeric(Haldi) powder, and curry leaves.
When oil surfaces, add tamarind pulp(imli paste), fried onions, coriander leaves, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Mirchon ka salan is ready to serve.
