Much of the town harkens back to the Victorian era when the railroad aided the city’s expansion. The village is surround unique B&Bs, cottages, boutique hotels, and resorts, making a visit here a treat. There’s shopping in the downtown area, waterfront eateries, and Irish coffee and Russian tea establishments where you can enjoy a hot or cold beverage. Cape Charles contains a museum dedicated to the town’s history, as well as an Art Deco Theatre and a mile-long municipal beach for swimming and sunbathing. Certain attractions may close temporarily or require reservations in advance. Currently, some eateries only provide pickup. It’s possible that the hours and availability have changed.

Between 1949 and 1964, Kiptopeke State Park served as the northern endpoint for the Little Creek-Cape Charles Ferry service.
