To go with your hearty meal, choose from a choice of wines (included with tasting notes), regional brewers, and specialty cocktails. While ribs come in three different varieties and sizes, smoked meats, such as pulled pork and marbled brisket, are offered by the half-pound. It’s a place to share, especially if you want to start with a Frito pie or smoked brisket queso, which you should definitely do.

2. Shiver’s Bar-B-Q

Super-sized brisket, benches, and drinks may be found at Shiver. The Homestead institution has been cooking real hickory-smoked meats in the same manner for more than 60 years, including baby back ribs, pig spare ribs, chicken, and beef brisket. Since you won’t even need Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce because the pork is so excellent, they don’t even bother to serve it to you. Shiver is about 40 minutes south of downtown Miami, but it’s so, so worth the trip.

This Little Haiti barbecue business specializes in meats smoked in the Haitian tradition, epis-flavored, and slow-cooked for hours. In addition to serving classic BBQ fares like brisket, ribs, and chicken, Bon Gout, whose name translates to “excellent taste,” also offers island specialties like griot (Haitian fried pig) and tacos made in the Zoe-style. The Texas-style barbeque was a common interest for Austin native Mel Rodriguez and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, which they swiftly turned into a successful business. Before becoming a brick-and-mortar this past spring in Miami Lakes, it first appeared as a pop-up during a lockdown. Fans of large, hearty meat meals and football players alike will enjoy the menu. There’s the well-known brisket sundae, which has layers of mac and cheese, baked beans, and cream corn. And the La Barbecue stack, which is crammed with gut-busting foods like sliced brisket, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. Additionally, various sausages, pigs, beef, and ribs are sold by the pound.

5. Bo Leg’s BBQ Best BBQ in Miami

Bo Legs is more of a smoker with a table beneath an awning selling food to go than a restaurant. But that’s all you really need. No fuss, no fuss, succulent ribs and juicy chicken seasoned with sauces and rubs that are prepared in-house.
