Gur Wale Chawal Recipe



  • Rice fully boiled ½ kg
  • Jaggery(gurr) ½ kg
  • Water 1 ¼ cup
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Small cardamom(green ilachi) crushed 1 tbsp
  • Clarified butter ½ cup
  • Big cardamoms(bri ilachi) crushed 6
  • Coconut sliced ½ cup


In a pan put 1 ¼ cup water with gurr, milk, crushed green cardamom, cook till gurr melts, remove dirt of gurr which comes out


. In another pan, heat ½ cup ghee, add black cardamom crushed with prepared gurr sheera, coconut sliced, cook for 2 mins, add boiled rice, mix well, cover pan and lid with a moist(geela) cloth and cook it on high flame for 5 mins, then lower flame and cook on dum for 25 mins till sheera dries completely.
