INGREDIENTS:

FOR RASAM POWDER:

  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Coriander (dhnia)seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin(zeera) ½ tsp
  • Fenugreek(methi) seeds 1tsp
  • Dried Cayenne(lal mrch dry) 1
  • Curry leaves few
  • Black pepper ¼ tsp

OTHER INGREDIENTS:

  • Tomato purees 3 (medium)
  • Green chilies slit 2
  • Curry leaves few
  • Tamarind extract (imli past)1 cup
  • Turmeric(hldi) ½ tsp
  • Jiggary(gurr) ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water 2 cups
  • Red lentil cooked 1/2 cup
  • Coriander (hra dhnia)leaves chopped 2 tbsp

FOR TEMPERING:

  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Dried red chili, broken 2
  • Curry leaves few
  • Asafetida(hing) a pinch

METHOD:
For Rasam powder, heat oil adds all the spices. Then grind it well.

For Rasam, in a pot add all the ingredients. Cook well. Now add rasam powder and cook for about 10 minutes. Once it is all combined and cooked, give a temper and serve hot.

For Temper, heat oil adds all the ingredients, fry well. Lastly add to the rasam mixture.
