When it comes to swiftly putting together a homemade dinner, this baked spaghetti recipe is a lifesaver. There isn’t a simpler dish than traditional spaghetti (always a good choice! ), but when you top it with extra cheese and bake it until it is toasty-perfect, you have a midweek dinner winner.

It is very simple to prepare this dish for your family after work, on Sundays, or even on game days. No costly ingredients are necessary, and it takes less than an hour to prepare. Cheesy pasta is usually a wonderful idea, so we love this simple dish!

Additionally, this simple supper makes simple leftovers for another night! If necessary, you may even cook baked spaghetti in advance because it reheats so well.

Ingredients Baked Spaghetti

  • 16 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce one jar of your favorite
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil divided
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese divided
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Spray a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray and preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • As directed on the package, prepare the pasta until it is al dente and drain. Sixteen ounces of dried spaghetti
  • In a big skillet over medium heat, brown the beef while the pasta cooks. As the beef cooks, shred it with a wooden spoon.1 lb. of ground chuck
  • Clean the skillet after draining the beef.
  • Add the butter and oil to the same skillet. After adding the onions, sauté them for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are tender and transparent. Garlic that has been minced should be added after 30 seconds. 3 garlic cloves, 1 medium yellow onion, 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, and 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Add the beef, marinara sauce, 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, and 1 tablespoon minced basil. Add freshly ground black pepper and kosher salt after thoroughly combining. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, 12 cup grated parmesan cheese, Kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. 24 ounces marinara sauce.
  • Stir the prepared spaghetti until it is thoroughly coated in the meat sauce mixture before adding it to the skillet.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and the remaining 1/4 cup parmesan cheese over the spaghetti mixture before placing it in the baking dish that has been prepared.1 cup of mozzarella, shredded
  • Until the cheese has melted and the spaghetti is hot all the way through, bake at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Serve with the remaining basil leaves chopped as a garnish.
