Product Description

Ventresca is the finest part of the Bonito del Norte tuna. Each tuna is line-caught by hand, preserving the texture and flavor that can be damaged by the stress of harvesting by the net. As long as tuna boats have plied the seas, ventresca, the belly of the tuna has been highly prized as the tastiest and most tender part of the entire tuna. Our ventresca is prepared in limited quantities. It is still manually cut from the central area of Bonito tuna. Once it is perfectly cleaned it is filleted and canned, always by hand; as no machine process would be capable of leaving intact such a delicate and tender meat. It is then packed in olive oil to preserve its delicate and moist flavor. Many connoisseurs consider ventresca a well-kept secret as a gourmet treat.

21. Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar

Drift is located in suburban East Cobb, and it is well worth the trip. The restaurant is the idea of Doug Turbush, who also runs Seed directly down the street, and specializes in wood-fired fish. Sit at the bar to catch a peek of the blazing oven, or take a seat in one of their inviting booths in the dining room. The scallops over English pea risotto are a treat, and the Rhode Island calamari is a fantastic appetizer. Drift offers a New England-style takeout cuisine called Pop’s Lobster Shack on weekends during the summer. Drift’s dining room and patio are open for lunch and supper, whereas Pop’s is solely for takeout.

22. Wahoo! Grill

This charming local cafe is located on the outskirts of Decatur, and while the dining room is charming, it is currently closed. The covered terrace, on the other hand, is accessible for dining (reservations required) and is just as attractive. Local is crucial in this case. Blue Ridge Mountain fish (served with sugared pecans and pesto butter) and peaches used in the peach salad are among the restaurant’s locally sourced products. There is also a takeout option.

23. Kimball House

The sleek Kimball House, housed in a former railroad station, has received national acclaim for everything from its décor to its oyster menu and (particularly) its cocktail program. With bivalves from Maine to the Gulf Coast to Washington, the oyster collection is one of the greatest in the city. “Lobster stock, enjoy a pils, kapow!” says one of the flavor descriptors. Classics like the French 75 (made with carbonated muscadet) and new concoctions like the Broken Rose (tequila, raspberry, vermouth, Campari, and maraschino) are on the menu. Tuesday through Sunday, their dining room is open for supper, and their Kimball Home takeout menu is also available.

24. Lapeer Seafood Market

Lapeer is a gleaming jewel box of a restaurant that is part of the new Alpharetta City Center. The bright and spacious restaurant seems as if it belongs in a Hamptons beach town as much as it does in Alpharetta. On the menu, you’ll find robust flavors like grilled mahi-mahi with a miso-tamarind marinade and red curry shrimp with sticky rice. Every day for dinner.

25. Las Costas Nayaritas

Las Costas Nayaritas is one of Atlanta’s most popular Mexican seafood restaurants. The stuffed pineapple, the seafood soup with crab legs, and their tostadas, which come in a variety of flavors, are all popular meals. The live mariachi band is a must-see. Las Costas Nayaritas is a restaurant that serves both dine-in and curbside takeaway.

26. Bon Ton

Bon Ton was a pleasant, cozy restaurant with a distinct New Orleans flavor before the pandemic (that tin ceiling!). For the time being, the epidemic has caused them to transition to a takeout model, which means you can still receive their beloved seafood dishes, but you’ll have to eat them at home. The takeout menu still has seafood by the pound (grab the crab legs) and tasty sandwiches like the Bon Ton Banh mi, which comes with a protein choice of fried shrimp, blackened catfish, or cauliflower falafel.

27. Bully Boy

Bully Boy, which is located in a separate building next to sibling eatery Two Urban Licks, is a popular hangout in its own right. It’s now closed, but it’s worth keeping an eye out for when it reopens. Shareable seafood delicacies like rock shrimp “tots” with kimchi yum yum sauce, blue crab fried rice, and Maine lobster Frites are among their specialties. Being on the BeltLine earns you extra points.

28. Lure

This upmarket Midtown restaurant has a dining room, but the covered, semi-enclosed patio is the place to be (even in the summer). It’s a certain method to transport yourself to the coast in the center of Atlanta, and the delicious seafood doesn’t hurt either. There are also grilled oysters with bacon, mornay sauce, and breadcrumbs, in addition to raw oysters. Scallops with pork belly, tomatillo salsa, and queso fresco are a snappy summer entrée at George Bank. Don’t forget about the bottled drinks.

29. Hammocks Trading Co.

Since 2012, Hammocks Trading has been offering beach feelings to Sandy Springs. Especially on the nautically designed covered terrace. The blackened grouper sandwich with honey coleslaw, jalapeo hush puppies, and salmon grilled in banana leaves were also popular meals. You can either eat in or get takeout.
